In 2014, we celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the Beastie Boys box office success in 1994. Bad communication. But here in Stereogum we can not, we will not, and we do not stop reviewing the clbadic albums, so we are pleased to inform you that Amazon has badembled a mini documentary in honor of Bad communication turning 25. It's called Still sick, and you can see it below.
Although Still sick begins with a look at the spontaneous creation of "Sabotage", then goes back to a review of the Paul's boutique Y Check your head eras The film explains how Beastie Boys went from a traditional recording studio setup to its own space that functioned as a creative clubhouse. This is the environment that was born. Bad communication. Surviving members Adam Horovitz and Mike Diamond sat at SXSW this year to be interviewed for the document, which also features separate interviews with producer Mario Caldato Jr. and keyboardist "Money Mark" Nishita. There are images of the great concert appearances of the time, including the Tibetan Freedom Concert and Lollapalooza, too.
