If you're looking to spend $ 1.9 million on a new vehicle, an Italian armored vehicle based on a Ford F-550 chbadis is probably not on your radar. Karlmann is trying to change that.

The company operates from Los Angeles, has a factory in Italy and is largely financed by International Automotive Technologies, based in Beijing. His first product, the Karlmann King, is a huge rolling salon complete with recliners, a coffee machine, champagne flutes, a mbadive TV and a price that makes it the most expensive SUV in the world.

In addition to the initial stratospheric price, buyers can customize the King to their liking. Crocodile leather seats, real gold details and special upholstery are available for a price. Michael Nothdurft, Karlman's sales director, says that a customer in Africa ordered a Karlman King with a price of $ 3.5 million.

A large part of that additional cost: bulletproof. Most of King's buyers opt for the bulletproof option, which adds at least $ 300,000 to the price depending on the level of protection that customers want.

Buyers of these bulletproof monster trucks range from customers in dangerous parts of the Middle East and Africa to real estate moguls and high-dollar watch merchants in the United States. But for buyers less concerned about security, Nothdurft insists that the King is supposed to be a work of art rolling.

It is undeniably different from anything else you see on the roads of the United States. It has an extremely angular style and is absolutely mbadive.

"This car is the most emotional car you can see in car shows," Nothdurft told CNBC. "People hate him or love him."

The king is based on a Ford F-550 chbadis. The F-550, a mbadive truck chbadis that Nothdurft says, was chosen for its proven durability and ability to support the weight of a luxury armored vehicle. The King maintains the 6.8-liter V-10, the suspension and transmission components of the F-550 and, therefore, is limited to 87 mph. The interior, however, is made to measure.

Karlman is looking for the construction of a manufacturing line in the United States in the coming months, but for now, the King is handmade in Italy. For United States market automobiles, armoring takes place in the United States.

The company currently has 20 buyers aligned in North America, said Nothdurft.

Buyers who order a king today must wait for delivery in nine to 15 months.
