The London Spitfire has ruined the hopes of the Los Angeles hopefuls who were looking for a pairing at the crossroads of the Overwatch League. There was great hope that the Los Angeles Gladiators had a chance to reach the semifinals and end up facing their opponents in Los Angeles Valiant, but that was not going to be because the Spitfire were in their A-Game this week and did not leave anything random. The Spitfire came in and dominated the entire set yesterday, swept all the games he played and finished with a general score of 2-1.
This now establishes a very interesting semifinal with three of the four teams that have won at least one stage per piece with the Spitfire, the Valiant and the New York Excelsior. The only team in the microphone that has not won a stage is the Philadelphia Fusion, which ended up losing one of those stages in New York. So the four teams, in one way or another, have earned the right to be here in spades. The Overwatch League semifinals will take place next week starting on Wednesday, and the Grand Finals will take place at the Barclays Center in two weeks between July 27 and 28.
